I have extensive experience litigating employment-related matters in both federal and state court. My experience includes successful representation in matters involving employment discrimination, including on the bases of race, sex, disability, pregnancy, age, and veteran status; sexual harassment; unfair competition under Business & Professions Code Section 17200; misappropriation of trade secrets; wrongful termination; retaliatory discharge; and breach of contract. I have also represented many clients in claims for violation of wage and hour laws, including for overtime and meal and rest break violations, in cases involving individual plaintiffs and in class actions. I have defended claims brought before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the California Labor Commissioner. I have expertise regarding claims for unemployment insurance benefits and bringing matters before the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board.
In addition, I provide employment-related training for management and counsel employers on their rights and obligations under federal and state laws and regulations in all aspects of labor and employment compliance, including reductions in force, harassment and discrimination, investigations into employee misconduct, wage and hour audits, hiring and firing, drug testing, disability discrimination and accommodation, employment policies and handbooks, and other employment related matters.
