Today operating globally requires more than knowing how to give and receive a business card or dial an international call. Knowledge of values, history and culture are essential because they shape how business is conducted.
The World Wise mission is to explain how these topics, especially cultural differences, influence common business situations, thereby enabling clients to work effectively no matter where their business takes place. Foundation principles guiding the business are:
• Cultural differences in business are to be valued and respected. • All activities are to be approached with optimism and flexibility. • Clients, partners, employees are all essential to our success and helping them achieve their goals supports ours. • Humor promotes learning and understanding. • Giving back to the community and the world is essential.
World Wise creates workshops, keynote presentations, and personal coaching programs that address how values, history and culture influence business activities. Participants learn the concepts that exist behind the sometimes-puzzling actions of their global colleagues, partners and clients. That knowledge allows them to avoid some commonplace mistakes and take advantage of opportunities when they occur.
Programs are customized to meet the requirements of each client.
My clients are professionals who do business globally, not limited by industry or position. They are people working with partners, clients, advisors or employees with cultural backgrounds that may differ from their own creating the potential for misunderstandings and missed opportunities. People that I work with are seeking a better understanding how culture influences business practice in order to increase their success working in a diverse environment whether at home or abroad.
Clients may be drawn from a variety of industries, there are no limitations. The common perspective is that their business is, or will be, global.
