David Ruth has been practicing law for over 25 years focusing on business and real estate transactions and tax planning. Mr. Ruth’s tax practice involves both domestic and foreign individuals and business entities, emphasizing United States tax planning and compliance. Mr. Ruth has substantial experience in assisting foreign nonresidents of the United States with their US based business and tax matters.
Mr. Ruth has substantial experience in business transactions, including business formations, acquisitions, sales, financing, restructuring, and daily operational issues. Mr. Ruth's experience includes knowledge of business organizations, including the formation, maintenance and reorganization of closely held corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships, as well as the negotiation and documentation of sophisticated joint ventures involving both real estate and operating companies.
Mr. Ruth's real estate practice includes real estate acquisitions and sales, 1031 tax-free exchanges, leasing, financing and ownership structuring. Mr. Ruth has handled transactions involving shopping centers, industrial parks, apartment projects, office buildings, hotels, and residential and country club developments.
Education and Affiliations:
Mr. Ruth earned a B.A. degree in economics from Claremont McKenna College in 1978. Mr. Ruth passed the California CPA exam and practiced accounting for several years with one of the largest US accounting firms.In 1984, Mr. Ruth graduated from Harvard Law School.
