Before opening her own practice, Ms. James served as the Chief of the Criminal Appeals and General Crimes sections at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles and was a partner and co-chair of the national appellate practice of a major law firm.
Ms. James defends individuals and businesses in all criminal matters, ranging from complex federal white-collar matters to small state and local offenses. Ms. James also represents clients in civil litigation, including general business litigation and civil rights actions. With special expertise in appeals, she handles civil and criminal appeals at all levels in federal and state courts, and offers appellate consulting at the trial level.
