HARNESSING CONFLICT TO UNLEASH CREATIVE ENERGY When you're stuck and need to move forward In any long-term endeavor, there will be times when some form of conflict is unavoidable; particularly when there is pressure to perform, a key decision needs to be made, and control is being shared. The problem often appears as: o A repetition of the same arguments over and over again o An escalation of the tension around a decision or relationship o An avoidance of a topic or decision o A stalemate around a decision or whether a decision even needs to be made o Communication breakdowns and organizational "silos" These situations come at a huge opportunity cost: energy is spent on negative and corrosive conflict instead of focusing on solutions. Yet, while these types of vicious cycles can be destructive, conflict itself is not necessarily a bad thing. Emotions and conflict don’t “get in the way”; they are often simply misunderstood. Conflict, when it is properly “harnessed”, is one of the important cornerstones to creative thinking and problem-solving. It is how new ideas get developed. It is an important source of enterprise and relationship vitality. “Harnessing conflict” is what successful business people do.
COMMITMENT TO HELPING CLIENTS CONSTRUCTIVELY HARNESS CONFLICT Where economic and personality issues converge We bring our extensive experience in both business and psychology to assist business owners, partners, boards, and family enterprises to better:
o Collaborate and constructively harness conflict o Create positive and effective organizational and decision-making dynamics o Navigate successful personal, inter-personal, and enterprise transitions o Chart constructive and sustainable paths forward o Revive options and choices that have been lost due to conflict

Consulting to entrepreneurs, partnerships, boards, and family enterprises on a fee for service basis. The purpose is to get business relationships "unstuck" and, where necessary, get people on the same page. Focus is exclusively on resolving the "people problems" by teaching clients how to "harness" conflict and staying engaged through disagreement. We usually bring in independent resources and domain area experts where appropriate. Engagements typically span two to six months.

Business owners, leaders of privately held companies, professional and business partnerships, and multi-generational family enterprises who are stuck or whose "people problems" are interfering with their success.
