The Mosaic Family Business Center is dedicated to helping families and organizations during the transfer of power and control from one generation to the next.
Whenever individuals, family and business mix, there are inevitable challenges to each. Individual interests are usually based upon the needs of the ego. Family relationships are focused on maintaining harmony, unconditional love and acceptance. Business relationships are based on performance, accountability and the bottom-line.
Integrating these three entities in a way that support the needs of all involved nearly always requires outside guidance to develop a unified vision, clarify expectations, and facilitate dialogue between all parties actively and inactively connected to the family business.
We address difficult "people" issues that commonly stall the business succession process: family members who arenft involved in the business can create unnecessary hurdles because they lack information or feel left out; non-family managers will worry about their own jobs and futures; young members of the family who want to be part of the business may not be clear about what they need to do to get themselves in line for future positions; families that are dysfunctional for a multitude of reasons; businesses that donft have clear strategies or have effective means to work well within the business, etc.
We work with the business owner, family members, key managers, and key advisors to avoid or overcome the hurdles that keep those essential transition plans from coming to fruition.
