Certified Specialist and Former Commissioner, Board of Legal Specialization, CA State Bar, practicing business, family and removal immigration law for 30 years. Designated amongst “Super Lawyers” by Los Angeles Magazine every year since inception in 2004. For 2008 and 2009, she was additionally a “Corporate Counsel Super Lawyer.”
Alice is First Vice Chair (2010 - 2011) and Chair (2011 - 2012) of the L.A. County Bar Association, Immigration Section, and in 2008 - 2009 served as its Liaison with the Port of Los Angeles’, U.S. Customs and Border Protection. She has also served as LACBA's Liaison to the Department of Labor and Citizenship and Immigration Services. She served in 2009 - 2010 on the Distance Learning Committee of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, for which she has been a speaker and editor of two books including “California Conference Handbook" in 1997 and “Representing Professionals before the Department of Labor” in 1994. She has been an AILA member since 1984. She also wrote a chapter in ilw.com’s 2009 "Consular Post Handbook" on consular processing in Yerevan, Armenia. She delivers talks for ilw.com and the American Bar Association and other local bar associations, law firms, universities (to international students and scholars, as well as a visiting lecturer), business, human resources, ethnic/national organizations. In 2007, she was nominated as among the top 25 lawyers practicing among 9,000 in all fields in the San Fernando Valley. Prior to practicing law, Ms. Hunter was a Legal Intern at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland on a Grant from the Dana Foundation. She studied law at the Institute on Comparative and International Law in association with the Sorbonne in Paris, received her J.D. from the University of San Diego, and at the University of Salzburg, Austria, she studied at the Master of Law level (in International Law), post-law school.
