Dr. Alan Creutz, founder and Principal of mergePoint, has more than 25 years experience leading entrepreneurial teams, scaling companies, facilitating innovation, and creating operational and marketing success in the high tech and professional services arenas.
Mentoring mergePoint augments its traditional business consulting with a strong mentoring focus that provides for ongoing engagement with clients on an informal advisory or interim executive basis. Since 2001, Dr. Creutz has been mentoring California companies as an active angel investor and member of the exclusive Chairmen’s Roundtable, providing pro bono mentoring to established firms which find themselves at a strategic turning point. As a Director of the San Diego Tech Coast Angels, limited partner in two VC firms, participant in several boards of early-stage and emerging companies, and advisor to the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Creutz has helped companies in diverse markets to deal effectively with the challenges they face.
Integrated Services mergePoint integrates its services with those of Milestone Strategies, where Dr. Creutz is a managing partner, and Transnational Venture Consultants, where he is one of five principals.
With Milestone Strategies, mergePoint develops and executes go-to-market strategies for pursuing Federal and commercial opportunities in homeland security and defense as well as penetrate Europe and the UK.
Working through Transnational Venture Consultants, mergePoint introduces U.S. companies to southeastern Europe and Turkey, and helps build strategic partnerships and channels for European firms in the U.S.

The ideal mergePoint client is in high tech or professional services, with revenues between $3 million and $250 million, seeking assistance to seize strategic opportunities or meet strategic challenges. However, we select our clients based less on the industry or market and more in terms of whether the issues, opportunities, and challenges fit the experience of our principals and partners.
Beyond the high tech sector, past clients have included medical device and biotech firms, engineering companies, system integrators, and business and consumer goods companies. Our key criterion is that the internal company champion (typically CEO or President) must demonstrate an eagerness to seek out experienced advice and integrate that advice into internal strategies and plans.
